Thunderstorm coming your way?

1/30/2019 (Permalink)

Storms are more often than we realize. It does not have to be a hurricane or a blizzard. A thunderstorm can be just as devastating. So when should you be prepared for the worst? Weather channels often send out a warning and a watch. A severe thunderstorm watch is when the conditions are right for the storm. This is when you should prep your outdoor furniture and make sure everything is secure outside. You should make sure you have some water and candles incase the power goes out. A severe thunderstorm warning is when a thunderstorm is in your area. It has been spotted. Tornadoes, hail, and severe winds often accompany the thunderstorm. When a thunderstorm is in your area, you should take cover inside. Stay away from windows and bring your pets inside to keep them safe. If you are caught away from a building or shelter, stay away from high ground and metal objects.

In our area, thunderstorms can be the scariest when we are out on the boat. If you start seeing dark thunderstorm clouds, get to safety quickly.

If you have damage from a thunderstorm, don't wait. Call SERVPRO of Bryan, Effingham, McIntosh, and East Liberty Counties, and we will be there to help!
